Our Active Start program is the perfect introduction to ringette for players born in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Designed for our youngest athletes, this fun and welcoming program focuses on building confidence on the ice through games, movement, and age-appropriate skill development. Players will have the chance to learn the basics of skating and ringette in a supportive environment while making new friends and enjoying their first experiences in sport. Active Start is all about fun, participation, and creating a love for being active on the ice.

Teams are typically on the ice 1-2 times per week, with a mix of practices and games. Games begin in October and are played within Calgary city boundaries against other Active Start teams from South Calgary Ringette, Northwest Ringette, and Bowview Ringette.

Throughout the season, teams may also choose to participate in optional tournaments, including events such as the Foothills Freeze and Friends on Ice.

No previous ringette experience is required. The focus is on developing basic skating and ringette skills, building confidence, making friends, and creating a positive first experience in the sport.

U7 Program Cost & Fees:

Registration is still open for the 2026-27 season until September 15  If you have a young player who is ready to get on the ice and discover ringette, we would love to welcome them to South Calgary Ringette!

When checking out in the registration system, your total will consist of two parts:

• U7 Registration Fee: $650
• Ringette Alberta Membership Fee: ~$94 (This is a mandatory annual insurance and membership fee required for all players in the province)
